Emerson was born and raised in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania and has more than 6 years’ experience as a mental health professional in working with adolescents with a wide variety of backgrounds. As a therapist Emerson follows a person-centered approach which focuses on clients as unique individuals who require individualized treatment plans and goals to maximize therapeutic outcomes. Emerson has worked in numerous levels of care ranging from in-patient, schools, and intensive outpatient care. In his experiences he has learned that establishing rapport is paramount for success. With that knowledge Emerson prioritizes his efforts to build strong working relationships with clients and families. Emerson earned his Bachelors of Science degree from Pennsylvania State University in Human Development and Family Studies. He then furthered his education at Chatham University where he received his Masters of Science in Counseling Psychology.
