Treating Trauma Using Mindfulness Techniques
At Red Mountain Colorado, our residential treatment program for teens uses a combination of mindfulness and traditional therapy to help teens heal from trauma and improve their mental health. For teens who need treatment for depression, anxiety, or other emotional and behavioral issues, meditation and mindfulness can help instill healthy coping skills. Mindfulness is the cornerstone of our residential treatment center for teens. We believe through teaching students healthy habits that they can implement themselves, we can help them gain long term skills to face life’s challenges. Our mindfulness programming includes:
- Yoga
- Guided Group Meditation
- Weekly One-on-One Mindfulness Sessions with Meditation Teachers
We also provide traditional therapeutic modalities like DBT, CBT, EMDR, and Somatic Experiencing. A holistic approach to therapy has been shown to help those dealing with trauma find hope and learn healthy ways to address their issues.
