Valerie Resendez, MA, LPC

Associate Clinical Director

Valerie obtained her Master’s Degree in Forensic Psychology from the University of Denver in 2008, and a Bachelor of Science in Human Development and Family Studies from Colorado State University in 1999.  She is a Licensed Professional Counselor and is a member of the American Psychological Association.

Valerie brings extensive experience working with youth to her role at Red Mountain Colorado.  Since 2006, she has worked with a wide and diverse range of populations. She is well-equipped to help her clients with family systems work, case management, and coordinating all aspects of a quality life post-discharge.

Valerie is highly skilled in teaching sobriety strategies and working with the underlying trauma, anxiety and depression issues which often drive non-working behaviors. By identifying and amplifying her clients’ strengths, Valerie utilizes evidence-based treatment to instill genuine hope into her clients, eliciting an increase in self-efficacy to empower clients in making positive changes.

In her free time, Valerie enjoys spending time with her family, traveling, running, practicing yoga, and enjoying the natural beauty of Colorado.
