Kentucky Families Finding Help For Troubled Teens

Kentucky Troubled Teens Find Help at Red Mountain Colorado

When you find out that your Kentucky child is acting out and engaging in negative behaviors, it can be tough to know what to do. You don’t want your kid to be labeled a “troubled teen”. But by knowing the truth of the situation, you’ll be better equipped to get the right help for your Kentucky teenager.

Your teenager probably needs more support than you can give at home. He needs the opportunity to unpack his negative behaviors, heal from the past, and create new patterns. An ideal way to do this is by attending a residential treatment center. At a residential treatment center, he will have access to evidence-based therapies, a positive peer group, academics, and the skills he needs to succeed in the long run.

Kentucky Teens Engage and Grow with Adventure Therapy

To facilitate true healing, it is imperative that your Kentucky teen is engaged in their therapeutic process. Although talk therapy is an important part of any therapeutic process, at a teen-specific treatment program there is room for more experiential therapeutic modalities like Adventure Therapy.

Adventure Therapy is an activity-based and hands-on approach that Red Mountain Colorado uses to engage with adolescent boys troubled with mental health challenges. Every week, students will get outdoors and moving with activities like rock climbing, skiing, and whitewater rafting.

Red Mountain Colorado’s adventure activities are intentionally challenging, fun, and offer a host of benefits. Teens develop communication skills, distress tolerance, and self-esteem. They understand how they can transfer problem-solving skills to future situations.

In addition to these transferable skills, Adventure Therapy exposes Kentucky teens to new hobbies and leisure activities. Frequently our students share that up until Red Mountain Colorado, acting out was the only ways they knew to have fun. With Adventure therapy, they have access to new kinds of fun and exciting activities.

Our location just north of Denver, Colorado allows for a diverse variety of outdoor activities throughout all the seasons. And though Red Mountain Colorado is located away from Kentucky, we help teens from across the country, including Kentucky.

At Red Mountain Colorado, a residential treatment center for struggling Kentucky teens, your child can get the care and support he needs to thrive. Using Adventure Therapy, your son will be able to move past the core beliefs that are limiting his potential and help him believe in his ability to succeed and thrive.
