Maine Families Finding Help For Troubled Teens

Maine Troubled Teens Find Help at Red Mountain Colorado

Realizing that your Maine son is struggling with risky behaviors is a difficult thing to come to terms with. You don’t want your kid to be labeled a “troubled teen”. But by knowing the truth of the situation, you’ll be better equipped to get the right help for your Maine teenager.

Your child really needs more help than you can offer at home. What he needs is a way to deep dive into unpacking his negative patterns and replace them with new, healthy behaviors. One of the best ways to accomplish this is by having him go to a residential treatment center. With this type of treatment, he will get therapy, academics, supportive peers, and the skills needed to maintain long-term success.

Maine Teens Engage and Grow with Adventure Therapy

To facilitate true healing, it is imperative that your Maine teen is engaged in their therapeutic process. Though there is definitely a place for traditional talk therapy, a teen-specific residential treatment center allows for more experience-based approaches including Adventure Therapy.

Adventure Therapy is an active, hands-on approach that Red Mountain Colorado uses to reach teenage boys that are struggling with behavioral and emotional issues. Students get active and outside every week with experiences like skiing, rock climbing, and whitewater rafting.

Red Mountain Colorado’s adventure activities are intentionally challenging, fun, and offer a host of benefits. Teens develop communication skills, distress tolerance, and self-esteem. Students learn how to use problem-solving skills in new and sometimes complicated situations.

Not only does Adventure Therapy develop these transferable skills, it also offers teens from Maine the chance to find new hobbies and leisure activities. Many times, our students have found that risky behaviors have become the only way they know how to have fun. Adventure Therapy exposes them to safe, exciting, and fun activities.

Our location outside of Denver, CO means that we have access to a wide variety of outdoor activities. And while Red Mountain Colorado is located outside of Maine, we work with teens from around the United States, including Maine.

As a residential treatment center for troubled Maine teens, your son will be able to find the support and help he needs at Red Mountain Colorado. With Adventure Therapy, your son will be able to work through the internal beliefs that are holding him back, so that he can achieve success and happiness both now and in the future.
