Mississippi Families Finding Help For Troubled Teens

Mississippi Troubled Teens Find Help at Red Mountain Colorado

Finding out that your child from Mississippi is struggling with negative coping behaviors is a tough realization. And the last thing you want is for your son to be treated like a “troubled teen”. But by accepting the reality of the situation, you’ll be better prepared to find your Mississippi teen the right kind of help and support.

Your teenager probably needs more support than you can give at home. Your son needs the chance to really look at both his behaviors and what is underlying them, while also developing new ways of being. One of the best ways to accomplish this is by having him go to a residential treatment center. At a residential treatment center, he will have access to evidence-based therapies, a positive peer group, academics, and the skills he needs to succeed in the long run.

Mississippi Teens Engage and Grow with Adventure Therapy

To really heal, your troubled Mississippi teen needs to be an active participant in their own therapeutic journey. While traditional talk therapy is an important part of the process, a teen-focused treatment program allows for more experiential modalities including Adventure Therapy.

Adventure Therapy is an activity-based and hands-on approach that Red Mountain Colorado uses to engage with adolescent boys troubled with mental health challenges. Each week, students will get outside and active with experiences like white-water rafting, skiing, and rock climbing.

Red Mountain Colorado’s adventure activities are intentionally challenging, fun, and offer a host of benefits. Teens develop communication skills, distress tolerance, and self-esteem. They understand how they can transfer problem-solving skills to future situations.

Through Adventure Therapy, Mississippi teens develop transferable skills and they also discover new leisure activities and hobbies. For most of our students, engaging in negative behaviors have usually become the only way they know to have fun. With Adventure therapy, they have access to new kinds of fun and exciting activities.

We are located just north of Denver, CO which gives us access to a boundless number of outdoor activities. And while Red Mountain Colorado is located outside of Mississippi, we work with teens from around the United States, including Mississippi.

At Red Mountain Colorado, a residential treatment center for struggling Mississippi teens, your child can get the care and support he needs to thrive. By engaging in Adventure Therapy, your son will work through the internal strugglings and negative beliefs that have held him back, which will help him unlock his potential to grow and succeed.
