Montana Families Finding Help For Troubled Teens

Montana Troubled Teens Find Help at Red Mountain Colorado

When you find out that your Montana child is acting out and engaging in negative behaviors, it can be tough to know what to do. You don’t want your kid to be labeled a “troubled teen”. But by becoming aware of the reality, you will be better able to find the right help and support for your Montana teen.

Your teenager probably needs more support than you can give at home. He needs the opportunity to unpack his negative behaviors, heal from the past, and create new patterns. An optimal way to do this is by having him attend a residential treatment center. There he will be able to receive therapy, positive peer support, academics, and – most importantly – develop the skills he needs to thrive.

Montana Teens Engage and Grow with Adventure Therapy

To really heal, your troubled Montana teen needs to be an active participant in their own therapeutic journey. While traditional talk therapy is an important part of the process, a teen-focused treatment program allows for more experiential modalities including Adventure Therapy.

Adventure Therapy is an activity-based and hands-on approach that Red Mountain Colorado uses to engage with adolescent boys troubled with mental health challenges. Each week, students will get outside and active with experiences like white-water rafting, skiing, and rock climbing.

These adventure activities are fun, appropriately challenging, and offer a variety of benefits. Adolescents develop improved communication skills, self-esteem, and distress tolerance. Students learn how to use problem-solving skills in new and sometimes complicated situations.

Not only does Adventure Therapy develop these transferable skills, it also offers teens from Montana the chance to find new hobbies and leisure activities. Many times, our students have found that risky behaviors have become the only way they know how to have fun. Adventure Therapy exposes them to safe, exciting, and fun activities.

We are located just north of Denver, CO which gives us access to a boundless number of outdoor activities. And though Red Mountain Colorado is located away from Montana, we help teens from across the country, including Montana.

At Red Mountain Colorado, a residential treatment center for troubled Montana boys, your son can find the help and support he needs to achieve lasting healing. Using Adventure Therapy, your son will be able to move past the core beliefs that are limiting his potential and help him believe in his ability to succeed and thrive.
