New Hampshire Families Finding Help For Troubled Teens

New Hampshire Troubled Teens Find Help at Red Mountain Colorado

When you find out that your New Hampshire child is acting out and engaging in negative behaviors, it can be tough to know what to do. And the last thing you want is for your son to be treated like a “troubled teen”. But by becoming aware of the reality, you will be better able to find the right help and support for your New Hampshire teen.

Your child really needs more help than you can offer at home. He needs the opportunity to unpack his negative behaviors, heal from the past, and create new patterns. One of the best ways to accomplish this is by having him go to a residential treatment center. There he will be able to receive therapy, positive peer support, academics, and – most importantly – develop the skills he needs to thrive.

New Hampshire Teens Engage and Grow with Adventure Therapy

To truly heal, troubled teens from New Hampshire need to be engaged in both therapy and their overall therapeutic journey. Though there is definitely a place for traditional talk therapy, a teen-specific residential treatment center allows for more experience-based approaches including Adventure Therapy.

Adventure Therapy is an activity-based and hands-on approach that Red Mountain Colorado uses to engage with adolescent boys troubled with mental health challenges. Each week, students will get outside and active with experiences like white-water rafting, skiing, and rock climbing.

Red Mountain Colorado’s adventure activities are intentionally challenging, fun, and offer a host of benefits. Teenagers improve their communication and distress tolerance skills, as well as increased self-esteem. Students learn how to use problem-solving skills in new and sometimes complicated situations.

In addition to these transferable skills, Adventure Therapy exposes New Hampshire teens to new hobbies and leisure activities. Frequently our students share that up until Red Mountain Colorado, acting out was the only ways they knew to have fun. Adventure Therapy exposes them to safe, exciting, and fun activities.

We are located just north of Denver, CO which gives us access to a boundless number of outdoor activities. And while Red Mountain Colorado is located outside of New Hampshire, we work with teens from around the United States, including New Hampshire.

At Red Mountain Colorado, a residential treatment center for struggling New Hampshire teens, your child can get the care and support he needs to thrive. Using Adventure Therapy, your son will be able to move past the core beliefs that are limiting his potential and help him believe in his ability to succeed and thrive.
